Quicksilver Crate Engines

QUICKSILVER has been building the 350 Crate Engines as parts for repairing boat engines since 2008. These never were converted automotive units or remanufactured, but rather built by QUICKSILVER from scratch for marine duty. CRATE ENGINES are major assemblies that include a new longblock as well as the fuel delivery and ignition components required for a high quality major repair. But, they require many more parts to be transferred from the engine being repaired or bought new before a boat can be made to go. CRATE ENGINE major assemblies lack: a cooling system,
engine mounts, fuel handling system, exhaust system, couplers, control mounting points, a starter, accessory drive, alternator, seawater pump, power steering, and usually a flywheel. The offerings are now expanding beyond the familiar 350 carbureted and MPI models.
